As a Graduate Civil Drainage Engineer, your primary responsibility is to assist in the design and implementation of drainage systems for various civil engineering projects. Our firm's services include hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage system layout and wastewater retrofitting, for private and public sector clients such as private homeowners, community associations, and municipalities. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional and collaborative environment.
Position Summary:
Will conduct site visits and review surveys to assess drainage needs and collect relevant data to assist in the design and analysis of drainage systems, including sewers and culverts.
Primary duties:
- Preparing technical drawings, plans and specifications for drainage systems.
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling.
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and project proposals.
- Conducting research and staying up to date with industry standards, codes and regulations related to Drainage Engineering.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborating with other team members, including architects, surveyors, contractors and clients.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET university.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
- 0-2 years of prior related drainage design experience.
- Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential as you will be dealing with complex hydraulic and hydrological calculations.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) is necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.

Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with ArcGIS
- Familiarity with coordinate systems
- Familiarity with one or more of the following:
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- HEC-RAS
- PondPack
- FlowMaster
