GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST

You will serve as a Government Information Specialist in the Department of the Navy, Marine Expeditionary Force of I MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting and applying statutory requirements of both the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act; 2) Providing legal and litigation support to attorneys and subject matter experts in cases concerning Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act statutes; 3) Interpreting civil law and court decisions affecting policy development, promulgation and implementation of Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act Programs; 4) Providing professional guidance in the capacity of a liaison to external requesters and information recipients to clarify and resolve issues; 5) Organizing and writing synopses, summaries and reports with responsibility for accuracy, citation, format and conformance to appropriate regulations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education: In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
Successful completion of an LL.M., if related
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
