POSITION SUMMARYThis position will support Goodwill Industries of San Antonio in distributing donated goods for processing and shipping or future storage. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bending, stooping, reaching, and pulling tightly baled clothing
• Previous warehouse or physical labor experience preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Comfortable working in a hot environment
• Working collaboratively with the team to handle approximately 17,500 lbs. of clothing daily
• Moving 2 100 lb. + tables at a time during table rotations
• Assisting with 9 rotations of 8-24 tables daily
• Sorting donated items and merchandise
• Adhering to a fast-paced work environment
• Potential for overtime hours
• Maintaining a highly flexible schedule
• Working in a hot environment
• Handling pallets and Gaylords
• Daily maintenance of break rooms and restrooms
• Cross-training for a cashier position
• Learning to operate a pallet jack
• Operating baling machines to process clothing and tying cables to 1,000 lb + bales

REQUIREMENTS

• 6 months minimum experience working successfully in a fast-paced, physical, outdoor, service-oriented warehouse environment
• Good verbal communication skills with ability to effectively work as a team to achieve mission goals
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
