We are looking for someone to join Team Yuma as a Golf Shop Cashier, working with the Department of Parks & Recreation - Desert Hills Golf Course Shop division. This ideal candidate will be assigned duties related to providing a courteous and friendly customer service to the public, basic bookkeeping, and shop organization.
Under close supervision, receives and records sales transactions in the daily operation of the Golf Shop.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greets customers, and provides prompt, courteous and friendly customer services to the public; responds to requests for information, and explains Parks & Recreation (P&R) department policies and rules.
- Collects fees, sells merchandise, maintains inventory records, and accounts for funds received; maintains, cleans and straightens merchandise displays; cleans facilities; schedules tee times.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Yuma and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors, and City staff; promotes the City goals and priorities, and complies with all City policies and procedures.
- Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, and some customer service experience is preferred. Basic understanding of golf is preferred.
Knowledge of:
- City policies and procedures.
- Principles of basic bookkeeping, record keeping and records management.
Skill in:
- Dealing tactfully and courteously with customers, and providing effective and friendly customer service.
- Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in City park facilities; requires ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects.
