Golf Course Outside Support

SUMMARY:

The Golf Course Outside services is one of the most visible employees of the facility, and is the first point of contact with guests.  This position is tasked with directing the flow of traffic in the bag drop area, unloading and loading guests' bags from and into their cars, loading and unloading golf bags into and from golf carts, staging golf carts for tournament and events, setting up, staging and tearing down of the practice facility.  Due to the nature of the position, the Outside service staff must be pleasant, but firm at the same time.  Do not be argumentative. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Outside services should be on-time for shift and ready to work 5 minutes prior to shift starting
• The main function of this position is to be able to talk to people. 
• Be the "out front" customer service specialist for the facility
• Promote the facility programs, events and image to the customers of the facility at all times
• Provide welcoming "first contact" with each customer or groups of customers and ensure they have an enjoyable experience
• Check with the golf shop for any unusual or special instructions, such as cart paths only etc.
• Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift
• Make sure all equipment; radio, carts, etc. are clean and are working correctly
• Accurate recordkeeping of the number of players daily
• Communicate with the golf shop on a regular basis
• Assist customers with any problems - alert appropriate supervisor if necessary
• Enforcing facility rules and regulations
• Keep work area neat and clean at all times
• Assist in keeping areas around the clubhouse and practice facility clean, and call attention to golf shop of any maintenance issues needing addressing
• Continually check in with the golf shop personnel (25-30 minutes), even if there is nothing to report, for possible change of duties
• Be prepared for inclement weather (rain gear, etc.), understand bad weather procedures and communicate with golf shop during weather alerts as necessary
• Assist other outside staff as needed
• This position may perform additional duties as needed/required

• Address guest concerns immediately, appropriately and to their satisfaction. Communicate any problems and potential issues such as damages, lost items, problems, injuries and questions to the Head Professional or a member of the professional staff. Provide feedback to management on members' comments and suggestions.
• Greet all players as they come off the Golf Course from the 18th green, clean golf clubs, and assist guests with their golf bags either loading them in their vehicle or storing them if needed.
• Ensure all rental clubs are returned & bags are fully intact, clean rental clubs, and return to clubhouse. Communicate any damage or issues to the Head Professional or a member of the professional staff immediately.
• Bring all golf clubs around the clubhouse to the bag drop areas for cleaning.
• Keep cart return area clean and uncongested.
• Prepare tournament by staging fully stocked carts according to event specifications
• Place all necessary signage & side game markers on course according to event specifications.
• Ensure all practice areas are fully stocked and well-kept.
• Shuttle players to and from Practice Facility
• Prepare cart return area and when appropriate properly clean each cart by emptying garbage & cooler, blowing out cart, and washing exterior and interior.
• Assist Professional Staff, Inside Staff, and Player Assistant staff as needed.
• Shuttle guests to and from the hotel.
• Clean Circling Raven Golf Club shuttle vehicles and range carts.
• Communicate problems immediately to Head Golf Professional
• Other projects and duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• Must be currently attending School or enrolled in a GED Program, validation upon request.
• Must be at least 14 years of age.

Skills/Knowledge:

• Must be able to work well in a team environment preferred.
• Strong multi-tasking skills preferred.
• Good organizational skills preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills preferred. 
• Basic problem solving and prioritizing skills preferred.
