Golf Course Mechanic

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Course Equipment Manager to join our course maintenance team. As our Equipment Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various equipment essential for the maintenance of the Golf Course. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a range of Golf Course machinery and equipment. This position will report directly to the Director of Golf Course Operations and is available immediately.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance on Golf Course equipment such as mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and other turf management machinery.
• Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address any mechanical issues promptly
• Cutting unit maintenance and repair
• Welding, cutting torch, & fabrication experience preferred but can be taught to the right applicant

• Repairs and Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities

• Preventive Maintenance:
• Implement a proactive preventive maintenance program to extend the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime
• Schedule regular maintenance tasks and adhere to manufacturer guidelines

• Inventory Management:
• Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance
• Coordinate with the supervisor to order replacement parts as needed

• Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections on equipment and report any safety concerns immediately

• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Director of Golf Course Operations and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks
• Provide guidance and training to staff on the proper use and care of equipment

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in diesel mechanics, small engine repair, or a related field is preferred
• Industry certifications are a plus
• Experience:
• Proven experience as a Golf Course Equipment Technician or similar role is a plus
• Familiarity with turf management equipment

• Skills:
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

• Communication:
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide clear updates on equipment status

Salary:

$60,000-$75,000 based upon experience
