This is a greenskeeper position (full and part-time) with a small company managed by a cohesive team of professionals that is looking to increase our capability. This position earns a competitive wage of $16.50 to $18.50/hourly, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GREENSKEEPER

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Bear Creek Golf Course while under the direct supervision of the Superintendent, includes cleaning and repairing building and equipment, as well as mows grass over the course, tee boxes and greens using hand mower and power-driven lawnmower, maintaining bushes, trees and flower beds and trim hedges. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, repairing and painting benches, tables, guardrails and assisting in the repair of roads, walks, buildings and mechanical equipment using hand tools.

Role Accountabilities & Expectations:

• Cut grass with hand and/or power lawn mower.
• Trim grass/weeds around flower beds, walkways and other objects as identified by supervisor.
• Plant and/or transplant grass and trees.
• Trim greens and cut fairways.
• Water Golf Course as directed by supervisor.
• Apply pesticides and/or fertilizers as directed by supervisor.
• Keep restrooms clean at all times.
• Perform minor maintenance on walkways, roadways and buildings on the Golf Course.
• Perform required maintenance on power equipment as scheduled and/or direct by supervisor.
• Perform all job duties with particular attention to good public relations, safety, health and proper procedures.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor on a timely basis.
• Request materials and/or tools needed to perform work activities to supervisor on a timely basis.
• Follow the work schedule as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GREENSKEEPER

• High school degree or GED preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year greenskeeper experience at a Golf Course; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A working knowledge of power lawn mower, tractor and hand tools.
• Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
• Must remain in compliance with drug-free workplace policies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (as required by OSHA and ADA)

• Position is located on a private 9-hole executive Golf Course in Medford, OR.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
• Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat.
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; chemicals; and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
