As a Golf Course Crewman, you will ensure that the day-to-day care, maintenance, and renovation of the Golf Course and surrounding grounds are in quality condition.

JOB DUTIES:

• Operates Golf Course maintenance equipment to include mowers (walkers and riders), trimmers, edgers, weed eaters, blowers, etc.
• Changes tee markers, cuts cups, repair ball marks on greens, and repair tee and fairway divots.
• Rake and edge bunkers, top dress greens and tees, edge cart paths, remove weeds, and gather debris from Golf Course.
• Participate in course renovations such as sod laying or removal, grass sprigging, trench excavating, tree and brush removal, operating hand tools.
• Helps clean course bathrooms, empty trash, and refill water coolers.
• Performs Golf Course maintenance duties as assigned by management.
• Move soil, equipment, and materials.
• Dig holes for plants and trees using pick and shovel.
• Mix fertilizer or lime with dirt in bottom of holes to enrich soil.
• Place plants or trees in hole and add dirt to fill holes.
• Attach wires from planted trees to stakes to support trees.
• Haul or spread topsoil using wheelbarrow and rake.
• Assist with the installation of irrigation systems.
• Water lawns, trees, and plants, using portable sprinkler system, hose, or watering can.
• Spread straw over seeded soil to prevent movement of seed and soil.
• Build forms for concrete borders, using lumber, hammer, and nails.
• Mix and pour cement for garden borders.
• Place decorative stones and plant flowers in garden areas.
• Mows lawns, using power mower.
• May assist with under brushing home sites by using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pitchforks, shears, clippers, etc.
• Operate small-motorized equipment such as weed eaters with supervision in a manner that always adheres to O.S.H.A. guidelines.
• Assist with seeding, fertilizing, and placing straw on newly developed land.
• Assist with erosion control.
• Take proper care of equipment and materials according to company standards.
• Follow rules, procedures, and regulations outlined in the company handbook.
• Follow directions given by crew leader and Managers.
• Communicate, cooperate, and work with co-workers and supervisors.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

• 0 – 3 years’ experience in landscaping or Golf Course maintenance.
• Basic understanding of operating lawn care equipment and its safety procedures
• Must be accurate and have strong attention to detail.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 60 lbs. frequently.
• Ability to walk 3-5 miles a day.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical work daily to include frequent handling, reaching, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
• Ability to work both indoor and outdoor in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold while being exposed to all forms of precipitation.
