The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and proactive Finance team. In this role you will be responsible for tax compliance across international, federal, state, and local jurisdictions. You will help develop and refine tax strategies to promote compliance and efficiency. You will work with the finance and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. This is a diverse role where you will be involved in several different tax areas.
The ideal candidate is a team player who can juggle multiple projects, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and can work autonomously when needed. You will ideally have experience with multiple tax types and be ready and willing to learn more. You might even teach us a thing or two! We value our culture and reward hard work and results. Reporting directly to the Global SVP of Finance, this is a unique opportunity to foster and own the tax and compliance process, as well as to grow professionally within a thriving global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Global SVP of Finance to oversee management of the company’s Global Tax obligations, ensuring alignment strategy and compliance to regulations.
- Consult with external tax professionals and finance team to prepare, review and file corporate income tax returns, estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Oversee workflow and completion of all monthly, quarterly, and annual filings – Examples: Sales tax, GST, VAT, WHT, FBT, IAS, PAYE, Payroll Tax.
- Consult with external tax professionals to complete annual financial audit requirements pertaining to tax.
- Consult with external tax professionals regarding required tax projects.
- Oversee intercompany transactions in conjunction with transfer pricing policy.
- Oversee timing and requirements of all tax engagements and manage relationship with vendors.
- Oversee requirements of any external tax audit.
- Ensure tax liabilities and expenses are accurately presented in the company trial balance.
- Conduct periodic review of global processes to assess compliance and efficiency.
- Manage tax staff, providing leadership, mentoring, and training as required.
- Review and research any ad hoc tax questions and requirements.
- Assist with other projects as required.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (taxation degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting specific role (tax role preferred).
- Demonstrate competency in technical skills including a working knowledge of tax laws and US GAAP.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, responsible decision making and self-management.
- Proven project management skills including excellent organization and time management.
- Strong communication skills, including effective communication with people at all levels.
- Ability to provide clear direction, assistance to team members and constructive feedback.
- Highly detail orientated and accurate.
- Flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high quality work.
- Ethical principles and ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with NetSuite Accounting software a plus.
Compensation: 130K
