JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Global Corporate Communications is responsible for helping with the development of and driving the execution of external corporate and brand communications in line with the business strategy including proactive corporate and brand reputation management, stakeholder engagement, executive visible leadership, issues and crisis management, media relations, and sustainability initiatives. The Senior Manager, Global Corporate Communications proactively establishes the Mars Science & Diagnostics veterinary diagnostics business Antech as thought leaders with external stakeholders, working closely with global Petcare and Mars, Inc Corporate Affairs teams. The role will work across our global veterinary diagnostics portfolio and will also play a role in driving the global reputation agenda.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help establish and drive the long- and short-term global communications strategy, objectives and programs to further our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS - including corporate PR, corporate communications, media strategy, digital and social strategy, story development, proactive news bureau, agency management, community outreach, cause-related comms efforts and support on strategic sponsorships.
  • Establish best practices across all external Corporate Affairs efforts especially corporate brand, working in close collaboration with key internal and external partners.
  • Develop and drive effective and engaging media strategy and develop strategic relationships with trade and relevant top tier media, key opinion leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Lead crisis/issues communication strategy to minimize situations that can be threatening and or financially damaging to the company, the brands, or the sites where we operate globally across Science & Diagnostics.
  • Play an active role in the global Petcare and wider Mars external communications community, providing perspective and engagement on global issues and reputation building.
  • Ensure our global external impact is benchmarked, measured and reported and drives continuous improvement across comms executions and plans.
  • Support the One Mars Petcare team on cross-pet business activation and reputation efforts.
  • On 24-hour call representing SDx to :1) minimize situations that can be threatening and or financially damaging to the company, the brands or the sites where we operate; and 2) take advantage of opportunities to positively position MPN.
  • Assume Global Sr Dir Corporate Affairs' responsibilities during his/her absence as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 8 years relevant professional experience in related work or corporate communications
  • Bachelor's degree or community college in communications, marketing, journalism or associated profession is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proven success in executing communications across multiple brands/ businesses.
  • Proven success in navigating complex organizations.
  • Tech, science or health communications experience a plus.
  • Experience executing sustainability communications and programming.
  • Experience in media relation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is based out of our HUB locations including:
New York, New York, Loveland, Colorado or Fountain Valley, California
The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to non-existent. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet. The employee is frequently required to use a calculator, fax, copy machine, and phone system.
The Target Pay Range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
