What we are looking for:
A driven HR & Payroll professional to help support and scale our payroll and general HR needs on a global scale. This is an integral role, which requires someone who is detail oriented, highly organized, research-minded and inquisitive. As a tech company, we have a preference for a data-driven individual who is comfortable digging into numbers and statistics.
What you will be doing:
- Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions for full-time and contract/hourly employees across all regions.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates and including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Research, resolve and communicate resolution to all interested parties with payroll issues or concerns related to taxation, earnings, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Onboarding new employees.
- Make sure the company is compliant with regulations includes USA, UK and Canada, communicate and follow up with local agencies to resolve any issues.
- Year end compliance and general record keeping (immigration documentation, changes in compensation, policy updates).
- Weekly audit of Focal data access and ensuring on-going compliance and record keeping.
- Create a system for developing SOPs and document best practice HR processes to help drive standardization and efficiency for payroll procedures.
What you need to be successful:
Payroll Experience:
- Strong payroll experience (any system) who has specifically processed payroll for hourly employees.
- Who can identify unusual items and/or discrepancies, with a strong willingness to learn International payroll experience is not necessary but would be beneficial.
Excel Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel including comfortability in VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and Pivot tables.
Organizational Skills:
- This role involves handling varied tasks that require consistent follow-up.

- The ideal individual must be capable of meeting deadlines efficiently and effectively.
Research Skills:
- The ability to conduct research to solve problems and make informed decisions, including talking with government agencies and appropriate institutions.
- A Bachelors degree.
