Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. The Global Fleet Manager will lead all aspects of vehicle life cycle support from acquisition through disposal. This pivotal role position will collaborate with all teams whose business objectives require vehicles, which will include selecting and recommending vehicles; monitoring drivers; overseeing or directing vehicle maintenance and regulatory compliance; ensuring record keeping functions are maintained; adhering to cost control requirements, including budgeting recommendations; complying with statutory and company initiated environmental standards. This position will work closely with other corporate teams including, Treasury, Risk Management, Legal, Finance, Procurement, EHS, and People. The Global Fleet Manager manages through deep collaboration and professional support within the department, and develops and maintains outside vendor and service provider relationships. - Supports all vehicles used in Apple operations, including ensuring DOT and OSHA compliance. - Follows and implements Apple’s policies relating to vehicle usage, and driver operators. - Manages material handling equipment program. - Manages contracts of vendors, including negotiating, performance and ongoing monitoring. - Manages claims, being directly responsible for first party claims and partnering with other internal groups for third party claims. - Leads people who perform fleet project management duties involving cross-functional teams focused on delivery of internal products or administrative systems that are dependent on vehicles. - Oversees, plans, monitors, and advises vehicle delivery schedules and provides vehicle support budgets to project owners. - Coordinates fleet activities, ensuring communications ensure completion on schedule and within budget constraints. - May assign and monitor work of technical personnel providing fleet administration or vehicle support. - Quarterly insurance reviews with Risk, Treasury and Legal teams to review opportunities and projections. - Manages cost and allocation of running the fleet through type of vehicle used, fuel, maintenance and repairs, and driver behavior. - Supports other programs related to: Transportation, R&D, Commute, Events as well as other duties, as assigned.

  • Minimum 8 years experience of managing or co-managing a global vehicle fleet
  • Top notch communication, interpersonal, and analytics skills
  • Finance and accounting literacy
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT laws, and California MCP, EPN regulations
  • Understanding of vehicle systems, mechanics, and technology
  • Computer and software skills in fleet-specific programs
  • Must be adaptable to change and be open to finding diverse and unexpected solutions to challenges and problems

The Global Fleet Manager gives strategic and tactical support for Apple fleet operations. Critical needs support requires extensive industry knowledge ranging from DOT compliance and reporting to supply chain logistics to finance and accounting logic. The Global Fleet Manager must be capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Leadership skills are of equal importance with knowledge and technical abilities, understanding that managing the fleet, even while making final decisions on administrative or operational matters, is more about serving than being served. This individual will need to practice sound risk management principles to avoid and mitigate loss potential resulting from use of vehicles and equipment.

- Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years experience - MBA preferred

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,200.00 and $212,400.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
