Job Description

Global Emergency Response Manager
Position Summary:
  • This role is based in the United States and reports to the Global Health & Safety Director. The incumbent will be responsible for all Emergency Response standards, programs, processes, and training. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with Technology Center and Business Unit colleagues to ensure facility-level compliance with all regulatory and ADM Emergency Response requirements.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a four year technical degree is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Response, Occupational Safety, Fire Science, or an Engineering related field is a plus.
  • Experience in a leadership position in safety, regulatory compliance, corporate Emergency Response, loss control & contingency planning.
  • 5-10+ years of domestic and international Emergency Response program management within the manufacturing industry is required. Experience in human and animal nutrition and/or agricultural origination and processing industries is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of National Incident Management System (NIMS); Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS); Incident Command System (ICS) is required. Other related professional certifications and/or professional memberships are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various worksites as needed.
Skills
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective and concise training programs on Emergency Response topics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to make fast, decisive and appropriate decisions and take prompt action
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a strong ability to work and communicate with cross functional teams, external agencies and Emergency Response organizations
  • Ability to create clear and concise training materials and site-specific procedures pertaining to crisis planning & Emergency Response.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Technology Center, Business Units and Corporate Security colleagues to develop, customize and implement comprehensive Emergency Response programs, procedures, drill guidance and action plans to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practice.
  • Develops site risk hazard assessment criteria, and assists sites with risk assessments, to determine Emergency Response program needs.
  • Participate and/or lead portions of Emergency Response Program self-assessments and corporate audits.
  • Provide training and educational programs to employees on Emergency Response programs and protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with new regulations, industry trends, and advancements in Emergency Response practices, and incorporate appropriate changes to existing programs and practices.
  • Supports the planning and execution of corporate, regional, and local drills and exercises, debriefs, identification of needed corrective actions, sharing lesson learned, and tracking closure of corrective actions.
  • Organize and/or leads corporate incident management teams for large events
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations related to Emergency Response and help develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Act as a resource and provide expert guidance to management, supervisors, and employees on matters related to Emergency Response.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
