Job Description
JustinBradley’s client, an international non-profit headquartered in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Global Director, Human Resources to join their team. This organization advocates for resources and policy changes needed to give all girls a secondary education.
The Director, Global HR reports to the Chief Operating Officer and plays a critical role in executing HR initiatives, driving HR functional excellence, process improvement and global HR compliance. With four global offices and EORs, this role will ensure that global processes are documented, standardized as appropriate, disseminated, and adopted. The Director will straddle both the centralization of certain HR operations; as well as the decentralization of other HR activities. The Director must be culturally sensitive, globally experienced, and comfortable in championing change management. This role will recommend and roll out policies and best practices that are inclusive, guide global employment action processes, collaborate on workforce expansion to new countries, and oversee global benefits and compensation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Global Human Resources:
- Maintain a high-quality global HR operations function, including standardized policies as legally appropriate, standardized processes, appropriate technology, systems and tools, forms and guidelines that are available to all HR team members, well-understood and utilized.
- Lead HR due diligence (terms and conditions of employment, infrastructure, and documentation) and manage the maintenance of international office employee handbooks and guides for EOR- hired staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and required documentation, as well as timely response to HR audits.
- Lead annual employee benefits renewals for all registered offices and EORs in plan design and budget.
US Compliances
- In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer, ensure that HR processes, policies, record keeping, and forms are in compliance with US regulations, country and local labor laws, and donor guidelines.
- Responsible for leading the execution of the data retention policy for HR data and documents in line with US procedures.
Employee Services
- Coordinate the preparation of HR programs and tools (policies & procedures, SOPs, manuals, management guidelines, and other HR infrastructure).
- In consultation with the Chief Operating Officer and Legal Counsel, manage complex employee relations issues in a balanced, fair and objective manner, using appropriate counseling, investigative, intervention and mediation techniques.
A well-qualified candidate will possess the following:
Required
- Human Resources professional with 12+ years of progressive Human Resources operations experience.
- Experience in a global organization; non-profit experience a plus.
- Experience in building HR operations with a DEI focus and spirit.
- Experience in US labor and employment laws and legal resources.
- Travel: This position will be required to travel periodically.
Desirable
- Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging concepts and issues, especially as they apply to an HR professional in a global organization.
- Subject matter expertise in HR operations or compliance. Certifications in SPHR / GPHR will be an added advantage.
- Broad understanding of US employment law and compliance, compensation, benefits, and policy and procedure development.
