The Global Commercial Leader, Precision NanoSystems and Nucleic Acid Therapeutics is responsible for sales, marketing and customer support. Implements marketing strategies and sales initiatives. Sets objectives, targets and measures to achieve the company's forecasted sales and production. Develops and maintains standardized sales brochures, presentations, proposals and collateral and other materials related to sales and marketing. Analyzes commercial market conditions for the determination of potential sales of a product or service. Interprets customer trends and market insights into actionable strategies and tactics. May represent the company at trade shows, industry and marketing related conferences and corporate events.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Define and execute sales strategy and is accountable for his/her team attainment of sales revenue goals and KPIs.
  • Support generation of business opportunities at all key customer sites in collaboration with the broader Cytiva sales organization.
  • Develop and implement territory sales and business plans based on market knowledge and overall business performance criteria. These plans will include strategic directions and goals established locally, as well as those established jointly with the regional and global management team.
  • Hire, train, and manage PNI/NAT subject matter experts to interface with PhD level buying influencers in a technically complex and developing segment. Ensure the sales team will have deep understanding of PNI & NAT portfolios, enabling expert responsiveness to customers' technical/process questions to successfully generate and close opportunities.
  • Using strong DBS skills, lead sales funnel reviews and ensure reporting of all business opportunities, solution concepts and strategies to management by using CRM/Salesforce and provide voice of customer including applications feedback to product development teams.
  • Coach his/her sales team in navigation of technical selling cycles, in analyzing and articulating customer and market needs, prospecting all categories of PNI and NAT accounts from discovery, PD to manufacturing including CDMOs, developing relationships with customers and managing opportunities in collaboration with the sales organization to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Ensure that the team a) drives account planning and account acquisition to successfully prospect PNI & NAT customers, gather and synthetize account information using multiple sources of information including analytical tools such as SFDC and Qlik, communicate to the respective Sales Account Manager and translate into action plan in collaboration with Account Manager, and b) Prepares and presents sales projections, specification wins and forecasts of sales within the defined area, including budget planning for the following fiscal, year to a high degree of rigor.

The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline preferred. Minimum of a bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Life Science subject
  • 10+ years of relevant biotechnology commercial experience, with a proven track record in securing business in clinical & pre-clinical development domain
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and track record of successfully leading technical, customer-facing commercial teams; with ability to cultivate high engagement with team members.
  • Technical domain expertise with demonstrated ability to communicate technology-based solutions to new and existing customers.
  • Outstanding communication, influencing, interpersonal and networking skills to drive collaborative culture at all levels. Ability to work across organizations at a management level to achieve approval for plans and proposals.
  • Subject Matter Expert on technology and able to present at Regional seminars, conferences, and tradeshows.
  • Solid working experience with MS Office especially Excel and PowerPoint and a CRM database (preferably Salesforce.com) required as well as sales analysis tools such as Qlik.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Demonstrated success in aligning organizational goals and people strategies, with the ability to create an environment in which people want to do their best.
  • Ability to Identify and solve complex, operational and organizational problems partnering with the appropriate resources in or outside the department.
  • A thoughtful, decisive, and self-confident individual who combines mental flexibility, creativity, analytical ability and sound judgment to deliver results

The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
