Job Description
Glazier/Installer Job Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- 3-5+ years working as a glazier or commercial glazier a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Good communication skills.
- Professional appearance.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations.
- Able to read tape measure and do basic math (i.e. adding, subtracting fractions, decimals)
- A valid glazier certification from the National Glass Association a plus
IN FIELD RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpreting blueprints to determine the shape, size, color and thickness of glass for installation procedures.
- Installing framed and frameless glass shower enclosures, glass railing, mirrors, windows and other glazing material for residential and commercial projects.
- Loading glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to job site.
- Driving trucks to job sites and unloading glass and materials.
- Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
- Measuring and marking lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
- Using Ladders and Scaffolding to hoist material if needed
- Operating hoists or cranes with suction cups to lift heavy glass units if needed.
- Cleaning the job area once glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.
IN SHOP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cutting mirrors and glass to size and specifications per drawings
- Fabricating and cutting metal for shower enclosure frames and mirror frames per drawings
- General cleaning and shop maintenance.
