Description
- We are currently seeking a GL Accountant. An ideal candidate in this role will be someone with automotive industry background, or other form of manufacturing experience.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliation
- Handle rent or lease related balance sheet or profit and loss accounts
- Read and understand lease agreements, abatements and prepare deferred rent schedules
- Prepare and reconcile prepaid rent, deferred rent and security deposits schedules
- Work cross functionally across departments to ensure security deposits are collected by the end of the lead term
- Distinguish between Capital versus Operating lease and apply the appropriate accounting treatment.
- ssign GL codes to invoices for processing by the AP Team
- ssist with monthly close activities including financial reporting and fluctuation analysis
- Prepare schedules as required by audit and tax such as Minimum Lease Commitment Schedules.
- ssist with the implementation of the new lease guidance
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable customer files and records
- Process payments received to customers' accounts
- Investigate and resolve customer queries, process adjustment to customers' accounts as needed
- Reconciliation of payments applied to cash receipts
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations
- Special projects and other ad hoc assignments as assigned
Requirements
- Relevant background in automotive industry or other form of manufacturing (preferred)
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people effectively
- bility to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and/or the equivalent in experience Strong understanding of US GAAPCPA preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of SAP is a plus
