Role: GIS Architect
Role Summary: This role serves as the GIS Technical Lead providing guidance and structure for designing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial system infrastructure utilizing industry best practices for large federal program.
Work Environment:
- Location is flexible: NV5 offices or work from home considered
- Travel 25% of the time
- Develops system hardware specifications, design strategies, documentation, and plans
- Provides support for planning, design, and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions, including requirements developments, data analysis, modeling, testing, and deployment
- Coordinates with Agency IT leads to ensure systems/solutions are developed in accordance to policy and align to enterprise strategies
- Provide technical vision to client and team
- Solution Design and implementation
- Guides technical team/translates requirements
- Document and present technical best practices
- Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to complete Requirements Solicitation/Refinement
- Security and nonfunctional requirements
- Provide accurate and timely estimates/Level of Effort (LOE)
- Stay up to date on ESRI technology and best practices
- Market/educate clients on technologies and platforms

Requirements:
- Masters degree in geography, technology, science, engineering, business, or another related field, or equivalent experience*
- 10+ years of experience or equivalent supporting IT/GIS system and data integration projects with the ability to define requirements and recommend enterprise solutions
- Advanced knowledge of Esri platform
*Additional experience can be substituted for education
