DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Project and GIS Manager to join our Public Works department team!
Hiring range: $86,618 - $106,108
Position range: $86,618 - $125,597
$1,000 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking for someone skilled in either project management or GIS, and if you've got the drive to learn the other, we want you on the team.
The GIS & Project Manager will, under the Town Engineer's supervision, perform the construction, analysis and management of the Town's assets as well as a variety of management and skilled work in geographic information systems (GIS).
Some of other duties are performed are:
- Manage design and construction of public improvement projects
- Gather input and assess needs from various users and departments for projects
- Provide direction during the planning, design, land acquisition, and construction phases of assigned projects to assure a quality project is produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Perform construction inspections to monitor construction of public improvement projects for conformance with Town standards and contract documents and agreements
- Develop and assemble plans, project specifications and construction documents for various construction projects.
- Assist in developing and administrating the capital improvements budgets and Projects.
- Meet with Town employees, contractors, consultants, Town Council, and general public on public infrastructure projects.
- Review permit submittal documents for compliance with Town standards and provide necessary Public Work inspections
- Manage assets as it relates to public infrastructure and mapping prioritization for Town GIS
- Lead GIS user group to set priorities and implement work program
- Educate and assist staff and public GIS users
- Produce and maintain databases and maps for the Town GIS Manages, keeps records and analyzes Town assets within GIS for project identification and prioritization
- Collect, edit and maintain geospatial datasets to meet the Town's needs
- Support GIS integration into Town applications including departmental coordination, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, implementation, monitoring, and configuration

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Possesses working knowledge of practices and construction methods.
- Ability to be highly accountable, efficient and productive.
- Ability to operate and effectively manage construction projects from conception to completion.
- A bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography, surveying, cartography, engineering, engineering technology, project management or related field of study; and minimum of three years' related experience; or any combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other departments, contractors, officials, employees and the public.
- Proven experience with the principles, practices and application of GIS, including data compilation and conversion, database management systems, GPS, graphics, and mapping.
- Field experience applying principles of geography and cartography; including a thorough understanding of mapping coordinates, aerial photos and land use.
- Ability to work independently in a technical environment with interlinked and changing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills to understand and verify data from multiple internal and external sources to determine the best opportunities for the Town.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ESRI/ ArcGIS Application Suite and related software.
- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong and consistent ability to prioritize activities and handle multiple responsibilities within a specific time frame.
- Ability to use good public relations skills in implementing policies and guidelines
