Job Description:
GDIT has an exciting opening to support U.S. Army Europe in Stuttgart, Germany as a member of our EMITS program team.
GIS analyst will utilize various Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and tradecraft to develop static and live (near real time) GIS products in support of HQ EUCOM. GIS Analyst will work directly with customers and collaborate during production cycles alongside developers to create solutions. Critical thinking skills, problem solving, and knowledge/ability to leverage different tools and data formats to create geospatial products are required. Knowledge of GIS file and data formats, Python (ArcPy), Arcade, and HTML/CSS are essential.
This position is well suited to analytical thinkers who enjoy statistics and numerical data, have good communication skills, and work well as part of a team. Mus be proficient with Esri GeoEvent Server 10.x, specifically integrating external data, creating live data services, and publishing GeoEvent enabled data to enterprise level geodatabases and other data stores. Experience working directly at a COCOM/Major Command in a GIS capacity is preferred, however, not necessary.

- Analyzing spatial data through the use of Esri 10.x (Desktop and Enterprise) and 2.x (ArcPro) software.
- Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data; creating products that visually display these trends.
- Creating and maintaining data on Enterprise level geodatabases and data stores.
- Integrating data from various DoD organizations, such as TRANSCOM, SOUTHCOM, CENTCOM, AFRICOM, and Indo-PACOM, into EUCOM's enterprise environment.
- Must be proficient with Esri GeoEvent Server; specifically must know how to integrate external data and create live services, publish services to SDEs, Hosted Servers, and various other data stores.
- Develop and maintain custom mapping applications within the Esri framework, such as Operations Dashboards and Web Apps.
- Will be required to create Rest queries to Hosted servers in order to incorporate specific data into custom products.
- Performing data munging and cleaning to convert data into its desired form.
- Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
- Managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- TS/SCI Security Clearance
- BA/BS (or equivalent experience) Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field and 5+ years of experience
- Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
- Proficiency with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Arcade and various mapping languages.
- Experience with mapping tools such as Esri, QGIS and Carto.
- Experience with GPS measuring tools.
- Outstanding quantitative skill set.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Analytical mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to obtain German TESA approval.
