Jones Edmunds, one of ENR's top 500 design firms, has an exciting opportunity for a GIS Analyst. Our GIS department is expanding and we have an immediate need for a full time candidate to join our team. There will also be opportunity to learn about asset management through the implementation of Cityworks AMS/PLL software suite for municipal and county governments throughout the state of Florida… and beyond. Knowledge of, or experience in the public works, utilities, or municipal government sector is a plus. This position will require working closely in small teams on both small and large scale GIS and implementation projects throughout the state, and may interact directly with clients.
This is a junior-level position to assist on GIS analysis and design as well as software configuration elements for our asset management projects. The GIS Analyst’s primary role includes GIS data production and data enhancement through georeferencing and digitizing data from as-built drawings, spatial analysis, and field data collection. Responsibilities also include presentation of data and analyses through traditional or web maps and applications in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise environments. The GIS Analyst may also be responsible for installing and maintaining GIS software and responding to inquiries from software end users. The GIS Analyst’s role on asset management implementation projects may include tasks such as geodatabase design, database population, integrating GIS elements with other technology, and software installation and configuration. As a member of our GIS team, this position will participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy of GIS information is maintained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Technical Responsibility
- Acquire, develop, build, and update relational databases.
- Compile and analyze geodata and other data required to perform analysis.
- Prepare graphics and maps of GIS data.
- Provide technical mentoring and training to clients and co-workers.
- Respond to inquiries from end-users.
- Maintain and implement policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy of GIS information is maintained.
- Work independently or as part of a team to perform technical activities consistent with project plans within project scope and budget.

Quality Program Responsibility
- Assume responsibility for the quality of work submitted. Review designs and documents before submitting them to the next review level.
- Responsible for proper quality assurance and quality control on projects in accordance with the Jones Edmunds Quality Program to ensure projects meet Company, industry, and client standards and expectations.
- Adhere to project deadlines and keep the supervising Engineer, Project Lead, or Project Manager informed of any difficulties encountered on assignments.
- Submit work for quality control review on time and in a complete format.
Management Responsibility
- May manage tasks as part of a larger project.
Marketing Responsibility
- Provide information to the marketing team and others in the Company as requested.
- May interact directly with clients.
- Present a professional and positive image of Jones Edmunds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: BS/BA in Geography, Planning, Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or related field
Registration: None
Certification: None
Experience: None; 1 year experience using Esri software other enabling technologies especially ARCGIS, current Windows OS, web-enabling technologies, or related experience preferred.
Other: Experience working with RDBMSs, demonstrated competence with GIS software applications
Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable MVR
