GIS Analyst II - Estimated 5 Month Contract
Location: Salt Lake City, UT- Hybrid
Description:
The GIS Analyst II uses GIS applications to manage asset and reference data, create maps and generate analysis to support user requests. Follows standard processes to create, modify and transform data. Plans and organizes work, and coordinates with others to support business customer needs. Raises awareness of GIS technology and data solutions through interactions with internal customers.
As GIS Analyst II, you will use GIS applications to manage asset and reference data, create maps and generate analysis to support user requests. You will also raise awareness of GIS technology and data solutions through interactions with stakeholders. The ability to build and maintain relationships with others, identify and communicate technology gaps and assess data to effectively problem solve are keys to success.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Creates, updates and deletes features and attributes in the enterprise geodatabase
- Performs tasks using company standard set of GIS applications
- Creates and manages spatial data
- Researches, retrieves and reviews documentation for data management or analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED; completion of some college or Associate’s degree in GIS, Cartography, MIS or Computer Science and a minimum of two (2) years’ GIS experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Cartography, MIS or Computer Science, a minimum of four (4) years' GIS experience and a minimum of two (2) years' energy industry experience
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Needs basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
- Demonstrates ability to learn new software skills
- Experience with ArcGIS applications and tools, especially ArcGIS Pro
- Preferred: Knowledge of publicly available GIS datasets
- Preferred: Experience handling confidential information
- Preferred: Experience with FERC or PHMSA regulations
- Preferred: Experience interpreting land or commercial agreements
- Preferred: Experience working in standard industry data models
- Preferred: Experience with ESRI’s Utility Network
