Job Description
ARM Group LLC is seeking a Geographic Information Systems Analyst II who will build, develop, maintain, and modify geographic information system (GIS) databases as well as create mapping products for a variety of disciplines and maintain associated GPS data. This role will also assist engineers, geologists, scientists, and other staff in using the systems. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, resourceful, well-organized, and cooperative producer who is able to meet project goals and schedules.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and prepares graphic representations of data using GIS software applications.
- Analyzes GIS data to identify spatial relationships and display results of analyses using maps, graphs, or tabular data.
- Uses advanced spatial analysis, data manipulation, or cartography software to perform geospatial data building, modeling, or analysis.
- Maintains and modifies existing GIS databases.
- Enters data into GIS database using various techniques including coordinate geometry, keyboard entry of tabular data, manually digitizing maps, scanning or automatic conversion to vectors, or conversion of other sources of digital data.
- Creates GPS files for field personnel, post processes and manages collected data.
- Reviews the currentness, accuracy, usefulness, quality, and completeness of existing or incoming data.
- Designs, or coordinates the development of, integrated GIS spatial and non-spatial databases.
- Chooses cartographic elements necessary for effective presentation of information.
- Provides users or clients with technical support and training related to the maintenance, development, or operation of GIS databases, equipment, or applications.
- Interprets aerial photos or orthophotos.
- May oversee or mentor junior GIS staff.
Job Requirements
Base Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, or related field.
- GIS related course work or training.
- 4-8 years of experience of relevant professional experience working in the field of GIS, or Engineering fields.
- Proficient with ArcMap.
- Proficient with Autodesk products.
- Must possess advanced technical breadth and depth in Geospatial data manipulation, management, and analysis.
- Must be proficient with CAD and GIS integration.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access or related software.
Preferred Requirements:
- GIS Certificate.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
- Experience with Trimble Connect and TerraFlex GPS software.
- Experience with UAV/Drone and Point Cloud data.
