Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support to Environmental Service line in our Winter Park, Florida office. Perform data acquisition, data management, data analysis and data visualization in support of projects and corporate initiatives. Determine appropriate data sources and methods, develop technical workflows and create technical maps, exhibits, and models to support project needs. Support field data collection efforts by providing and configuring appropriate tools to meet accuracy and attribution criteria. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and currency of all geospatial project data and maintaining technical documentation and metadata, as appropriate. Ensure that all GIS deliverables meet a high level of quality and comply with corporate standards.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review, refine and improve GIS processes and develop efficiencies.
- Create and maintain GIS maps and exhibits for project applications and reports.
- Perform quality control on GIS work.
- Develop and maintain project GIS databases.
- Research, compile, and review spatial data from public and proprietary sources.
- Create, edit, and transform spatial data to suit project requirements and various software platforms.
- Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) multiple data sources into required formats.
- Perform spatial data analyses and computation using various software platforms, tools, and scripts.
- Evaluate project GIS needs and provide recommendations.
- Assist in the implementation of relational database management systems.
- Support web and mobile application development.
- Implement quality assurance practices and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare technical documentation and metadata in support of GIS work products.
- Follows safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, engineering, computer science or related field with a minimum 4 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years' related experience.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS field apps, Safe Software FME, AutoCAD, 3D Design Software, MS Office, and open source applications.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and various programming languages (e.g. Python, C#, XML, JavaScript).
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- GISP
- Strong AutoCAD experience
