Job Summary
This position assists with data creation and maintenance is primary responsible for creating, inputting, and verify various geospatial data; producing maps and other GIS related products; helping maintain ArcGIS Enterprise, other geodatabases, and related systems, and assist with web map application development to provide accessible County geospatial data. This position works with other County departments, other agencies, and the public update geospatial data. The work is performed under the supervision of the GIS Manager. The principal duties of this class are performed in a public office environment; some field work may be required assist in training or data collection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (will vary by assignment)
- Assists with creation and maintenance of GIS data and systems.
- Helps create, edit, and update GIS data, maps, and related products; verify and ensure GIS data, tables, maps, and related products that are created and maintained by the County are current, accurate, and in compliance with state and County codes, statutes, and other requirements; review maps, charts, legal descriptions, surveys, plats, deeds, aerial imagery, and related documents to obtain information of interest; analyze data trends to inform and aid in decisions.
- Assist with development and maintenance of ArcGIS Online and Portal web services, online maps, and web applications.
- Provides technical expertise and training regarding mapping software and GIS equipment operations to county employees; writes documentation, including technical/user manuals and workflows, for processes, programs, and systems related to GIS tasks, web maps, and related applications, interfaces.
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Other Duties and Responsibilities

What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geotechnology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related Technology field is required; and
- Two (2) years' experience using GIS technology and computerized mapping/drafting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work;
