Job Summary:
The Eastview High School Girls Cross Country Coach is responsible for leading and developing the school's Cross Country team. The coach will work closely with the athletic director and other coaches to ensure that the team is organized and competitive.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement daily practices, including drills, conditioning, and training programs
- Develop and maintain a positive and productive team culture
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration
- Attend and manage meets and competitions
- Monitor and track the progress of each athlete
- Ensure that all safety protocols are followed
- Maintain accurate records and statistics for the team
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the sport and the rules and regulations that govern it
- Attend and assist with fundraising events for the team
Qualifications:
- High school or college degree
- Experience coaching Cross Country
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR
- Passion for the sport and a commitment to developing young athletes
- The coach will be expected to be available for practices and competitions, which typically take place after school and on weekends.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications listed above, the coach will also be expected to:
- Attend and participate in regular coach's meetings and trainings
- Help to organize and plan team bonding and team building activities
- Take an active role in increasing participation numbers
- Collaborate with the school's athletic trainer to ensure the well-being and safety of the team's athletes
- Help to plan and organize end-of-season awards and recognition events
- Help to maintain and update the team's website and social media accounts
As a coach, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young student-athletes, helping them to develop both physically and mentally. The coaching staffs within District 196 are dedicated to providing an environment that allows athletes to reach their full potential, both on the field and in the classroom.
