About the Mulva Cultural Center
The Mulva Cultural Center is a place where all guests are invited to experience a culturally creative and diverse environment for education, enlightenment, contemplation, and enjoyment. The Mulva Cultural Center seeks to offer traveling exhibits, arts, and culture within an architecturally significant facility in historic downtown De Pere, Wisconsin.
Position Summary
The Gift Shop Sales Associateis responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering customer questions, ringing up sales accurately, and restocking merchandise.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of the POS system.
- Develops positive relationships with customers and teammates.
- Takes ownership of and authority over assigned tasks.
- Unpacks, tags, and displays new merchandise.
- Restocks the shop as necessary.
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of products and exhibitions.
- Listens for, watches, and learns about buying trends from the customers as they shop.
- Ensures a tidy shop by straightening, cleaning, and helping to maintain merchandise.
- Assists the E-commerce Coordinator with online order fulfillment as necessary.
- Assists with corporate order fulfillment.
- Participates in ongoing training as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 or more years of experience in a retail or customer service focused position preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to interact with the public in a courteous, diplomatic, and professional manner at all times.
- Proven ability to work independently and with a team.
- Strong time management, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Able to maintain flexible hours: evening, holidays, weekends, special events.
Personal Qualities:
- Highly motivated and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrates friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, and superior customer service.
- Committed to making safety a priority.
Physical and Environmental:
- Ability to lift/move/maneuver up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching as required to perform job.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
