Gift Shop Associate - Part Time - Harrah's Gulf Coast

Qualifications:

• Some college preferred.
• Must be able to deal with guests in casino environment.
• Must have previous experience in the hospitality, retail or casino industry.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Must be able to type 30-35 words per minute.
• Able to use 10-key machine.
• Familiarity with Casino Management Systems preferred.
• Must have excel and Microsoft office knowledge at an above proficient level.
• Must be able to get along with co-workers as a team.
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift.
Must be 21 years of age.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greets and welcomes customers with a smile as a company representative.
• Ensures each customer interaction results in increased customer confidence
• Tracks inventories and expenses for each assigned project.
• Must be able to use suggestive selling techniques with customers
• Must be able to operate register to total guest purchases and accurately balance cash drawer on a daily basis
• Assist in stocking retail store displays and maintain cleanliness of store as needed
• Obtains merchandise from stockroom when merchandise is not on floor
• Effectively and enthusiastically communicate the benefits of the customer loyalty program and provides players with compelling reasons to play at Harrah’s.
• Creates and maintains customer accounts using Harrah’s computer systems.
• Keeps work area neat, clean and stocked with supplies.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

• Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer needs and concerns
• Must be able to handle more than one function at a time accurately by being well-organized and paying attention to details.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
• Must have ability to continuously stand and maneuver in confined area.
• Must be able to maneuver quickly on level surfaces as well as up and down stairs.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
