Gift Shop Associate (Days)

The Gift Shop Associate supports the Gift Shop Coordinator and the Director of Volunteer Services in the day-to-day operations of the three hospital Gift Shops. This includes assisting the volunteers in the functions of the shop as directed by the Director. She he may also serve in the absence of volunteers to staff the shop. Associate is responsible for assisting volunteers to maintain and stock inventory, work as directed by the Director with the inventory control process and tracking of the day-to-day sales, display and pricing of merchandise, daily register balance, assist with training of volunteer staff.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Six months of related experience
Qualifications

• 6 months of experience working in a retail environment required
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Exceptional customer service skills required
• High School Diploma (GED) required
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques, store display and selling methods

Area of Responsibilities

• Assists with cashiering and receipt of merchandise sales. Maintains sales records and makes daily reports.
• Assists with general housekeeping duties within the Gift Shop and storage areas.
• Assists with Merchandise receiving and display merchandising.
• Assists with the monthly inventory of merchandise and stock, extends and prices inventory for use in preparation of the monthly operating statement. Data entry of new merchandise into POS system.
• Assists with volunteer training.

Compliance Statement
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
