Summary
The Flex Weekend/Night Monitor oversees the well-being of the residents as well as the building. The person in this position also provides administration assistance. This position may require consecutive shift work on Friday through Saturday. Days and hours of this position may shift due to the needs of the building.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Wellness check of residents.
  • Serving meals.
  • Sweeping the dining room floor after meals.
  • Emptying garbage from each residential suite.
  • Respond to the resident emergency pendant alarms.
  • Monitor the door entry system.
  • Admit and greet authorized guests, maintaining COVID-19 protocols.
  • Enter activities into the daily logbook.
  • Create orders; review with the manager
  • Perform filing
  • Organize files for inspections
  • Copying and printing
  • Answers the phones and responds to Resident requests and concerns; provides basic information about the building and takes messages.
  • Plans and implements appropriate activities as assigned.
  • Assists with Resident activities, such as meal orders, menu feedback, and setting up of meal services.
  • Maintains professional bearing in all programs.
  • Assist in the coordination of volunteer programs (including scheduling, communications, attendance).
  • Assists in the coordination of the annual event recognizing volunteers.
  • May accompany residents during off-site outings.
  • When assigned, prepares monthly calendar of events.
  • Assists in the design of flyers.
  • Meets with new residents to provide orientation relating to the building.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment and orders when necessary.
  • Attends meetings and in-services as necessary.
  • Maintains activity hours on a monthly basis.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience  

High school diploma or GED.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Two (2) years’ experience in working with the elderly or a special population in a residential setting preferred. 

Strong communication skills, good judgment, and customer service beneficial in this position.

 Basic computer skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Must have reliable transportation.
