- Primary responsibilities include providing technical expertise and supporting Geotechnical staff both within a branch and within a region
- Responsibilities include performing the following at both the office and regional level:
- Overseeing projects
- Performing technical report reviews
- Preparing and reviewing proposals
- Business development and assisting other staff in marketing our services by maintaining and developing client interactions
- Due to low barriers between departments, duties may also include performing the tasks above in CMT
- Responsibilities also include leading and coaching junior Geotechnical staff members
- Responsibilities may also include mentoring Associate Principals
- Responsibilities may also include participation in the review committee for candidates who seek Associate Principal designation (Geotechincal)
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Geology from an ABET accredited college/university
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional geotechnical engineering experience is required
- Achieved designation as Associate Principal or met the requirements via Board of Directors Exception
- Demonstrate technical excellence, leadership, safety, and professionalism
- Excellent performance history in project management, communication, risk management, and technical knowledge
- History of business development performance
- Proficiency with geotechnical principles and applications for a wide variety of projects (including commercial building, residential, roads/bridges, public works, civil infrastructure, etc.)
- Proficiency with current geotechnical software for analysis of slopes, deep foundations, and shallow foundations preferred.Ability to provide final technical review for reports in area of expertise, including all supporting calculations
- Knowledge of, and established relationships in the local market preferred
- Knowledge of the geologic and geotechnical challenges of the region preferred
- Professional training programs as required in the ECS Senior Technical Staff Policies and Procedures
- Associate Principals shall author a technical paper and a corresponding presentation prior to submission

- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
