Position: Geotechnical Inspector
Reports: Geotechnical Manager
General Qualities:
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Has excellent Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to navigate through company internet-based systems.
- Proactive self-starter capable of setting a positive example for the staff.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Perform geotechnical filed investigations.
- Perform geotechnical field investigations, explorations, geologic reconnaissance, and mapping.
- Assist in performing geotechnical boring logs, and spreadsheets.
- Assist in preparing geotechnical reports.
- Field work including investigations, data collection, and observation of soil borings.
- Field work generally within Newark, New Jersey.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a Geotechnical Field Inspector.
- Previous internship experience a plus.
- Experience with GINT a plus.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office software a plus.
- Ability and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Use of personal vehicles for travel a plus. Miles, tolls, and parking reimbursed.
- Ability and willingness to work alternate hours, to include overnight hours as required by the project specific requirements.
