GeoDesign’s Wilsonville, OR and Vancouver, WA offices are seeking a Staff Engineer for projects in the Portland metro area markets. Our firm is an NV5 company and provides a full range of Geotechnical Engineering, environmental, geological, pavement, and mining consulting services. Companywide, GeoDesign’s team includes dedicated engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, technical staff, and support personnel but we are part of a more than 2,500 person firm offering vast opportunities nationwide.
The position includes:
- performing geotechnical field exploration
- writing daily field reports
- construction monitoring and laboratory testing
- Candidates will be part of a team that conducts geotechnical analysis
- prepares engineering reports and project deliverables

Required Skills and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred, but at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or working towards) required; emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering preferred but not required
- Must be detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
The pay range for this Washington position is $62,000.00- $66,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
