We are currently recruiting for Generator Service Technicians to service customers in the tri-state area. The Class A (preferably) or B Diesel Mechanics will perform field work responding to a wide variety of service calls within your territory for both commercial and residential accounts while representing the company to the customer.
In this key role you will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting a variety of field service calls which will require the ability to read one-line diagrams, isolate failed components, and troubleshoot up to 400 amp Automatic Transfer Switches.
- You will be operating and connecting a minimum of 100 KW bank equipment and performing engine repairs, including timing, valve adjustments, gasket/seal replacements, coolant system repairs, and fuel exhaust.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience with the troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical equipment, of which at least 1 year must be on diesel-driven generators and related switchgear.
- Ability to obtain DOT, OSHA general industry, and NFPA 70A certifications. Training will be provided by the company.
- Certification to work on Kohler generators is STRONGLY preferred. Candidates with certification with other manufacturers will also be considered
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills are required.
- Ability to work closely with the sales team to build confidence with current and future customers.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and DMV record check are required for this position.
- Basic knowledge of diesel, natural gas, and propane fuel systems.
