Generative Ai Solutions Intern

The ARA Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Sector has an outstanding summer internship opportunity for students interested in generative AI. In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts to create company-specific generative AI solutions tailored for writing proposals and reports. You will gain hands-on experience in developing cutting-edge AI technologies while contributing to real-world projects.

We prefer that interns work in the T&I Sector headquarters in Champaign, IL. Interns may also be permitted to work in another T&I Sector division office—Panama City, FL; Elkridge, MD; or Vicksburg, MS.

What you will do as a generative AI Solutions Intern:

• Collaborate with engineering and science subject matter experts to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Research and explore existing generative AI models and algorithms applicable to proposal and report writing.
• Design and develop custom generative AI solutions tailored to ARA’s needs and objectives.
• Train and fine-tune AI models using relevant datasets to optimize performance and accuracy.
• Test and evaluate the effectiveness of AI solutions through rigorous experimentation and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows and systems.
• Provide documentation and training materials to facilitate the adoption and usage of AI solutions by team members.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in AI technology and propose innovative ideas for future projects.

Generative AISolutions Intern requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, particularly in natural language processing (NLP) and generative models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiasm for learning and staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in AI.
• Prior experience or coursework in AI development, NLP, or related fields is a plus.
