Job Summary:
In this role, you will report to the Chief People & Culture Officer, while working alongside members of the Academy People & Culture teams. This role is responsible for various aspects of People & Culture including employee engagement, benefits, payroll, coordinating various projects, onboarding new employees, interpretation of policies, conducting P&C audits, and ad-hoc P&C reporting. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable of P&C workflow processes, has a passion for providing a positive employee experience, is a creative and effective communicator, and is extremely organized, detail-oriented, efficient, and a self-starter.
This position is based in Los Angeles and is hybrid. Onsite work is required three (3) days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommend and help to implement strategies that strengthen and develop employee engagement through events and initiatives that touch employees throughout their career at the Academy.
- Develop and leverage effective and sustainable feedback processes to ensure staff feedback is considered in making programming decisions.
- Manage the planning and administration of annual open enrollment, and other benefit changes throughout the year.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new employees are set up for success by liaising with cross-functional teams to help with training.
- Assist in conducting exit interviews.
- Manage the HRIS system, including data updates of all employee information changes and additions. Regularly run standard and ad-hoc reports.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; and advising management on needed actions.
- Provide support in areas of 401(k), payroll, worker’s compensation, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Partner with Accounting, IT, and other internal functions to improve HR operational workflows and ensure the integrity of HR data.
- Prioritize conflicting needs, handle matters expeditiously and proactively, and follow through on projects to successful completion.
- Create and edit presentations, spreadsheets, communications, databases, reports, and org charts.
- Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the People & Culture team.
- Maintain absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times.
