We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team on a part-time basis, specifically to cover Trauma Call one day a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in orthopedic surgery with a focus on trauma cases, demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of orthopedic injuries.
Responsibilities:
1. Trauma Call Coverage:
- Respond promptly to Trauma Calls during the designated day and hours.
- Evaluate and provide timely and accurate diagnosis of orthopedic trauma cases.
- Perform surgical interventions as necessary to address trauma-related injuries.
2. Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, considering medical history, diagnostic tests, and consultations.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide patient education on orthopedic conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
3. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and other surgeons, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate patient care and share relevant information.
4. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes.
- Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, adhering to regulatory and institutional standards.
5. Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery and trauma care through continuous education and training.
- Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and other professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Valid medical license in the state of California.
- Proven experience in General Orthopedic surgery with a focus on trauma cases.
- Strong surgical skills and experience in handling orthopedic emergencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
