About the job:
The General Operator will work with multiple teams and departments through-out the manufacturing environment. Ability to perform a wide variety of duties depending on production needs and the team they are currently assigned. Assignments may vary on a daily basis.

• Conducts himself/herself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.
• Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Performs work activities as directed in one or more departments including but not limited to assembly, grinding/painting, structures, headers, louvers, fin tube, maintenance, materials control, etc.
• Assist Machine Operators with tasks as needed.
• Typical tasks will include grinding, fin tube cutting, saw operator, paint prep, cut-off saw operation, lite maintenance activities, and/or shop clean-up/janitorial duties.
• Provides needed material(s) to various work stations and/or locations.
• Understands and prioritizes work plans to complete assignments with quality work and in a timely manner.
• Performs general cleaning activities and transportation of waste to appropriate disposal areas.
• Maintains total shop area clean, including restrooms, break room, first aid area and shop offices.
• Performs ground maintenance as required.
• Monitors and requests restock of supplies as required.
• Troubleshoots and resolves incoming problems.
• Selects and safely uses various applicable hand, power and specialty tools.
• Safely rigs materials for movement by overhead crane.

What you know:
You have a High School or GED equivalent. Candidates interested in company-sponsored GED program will be considered. Must have a respectful approach to working with others, including the following experience.

• Basic math skills required.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Scissor Lift certification preferred.
• Overhead crane operation preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements of the Position:

• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
• Stands or walks 70% of work day.
• Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
• Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure)
