Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our franchise car dealership. As the leader of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a proven track record in automotive retail management, and a passion for delivering results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide effective leadership to all dealership staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Sales and Business Development:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and take proactive measures to address any deviations from targets.
  • Customer Satisfaction:
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by maintaining strong relationships and addressing customer concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Implement processes to enhance the overall customer experience, from initial contact to after-sales support.
  • Uphold dealership standards for professionalism, integrity, and transparency in all customer interactions.
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage dealership finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control, to achieve financial objectives.
  • Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory levels, including new and used vehicles, parts, and accessories, to meet customer demand and minimize holding costs.
  • Monitor aging inventory and implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and profitability.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of vehicles and parts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and dealership policies, including safety standards and ethical practices.
  • Implement effective risk management practices to mitigate potential liabilities and safeguard dealership assets.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive retail management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive industry trends, sales techniques, and dealership operations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the automotive industry.
