Job Description
Delta Hotels by Marriott is hiring for a General Manager. The General Manager's primary function is to ensure guest satisfaction and financial performance of a full-service Marriott Hotel. This position directs the daily activity of the entire property and is responsible for obtaining annual plan goals. The candidate will need excellent leadership and communication skills with significant knowledge of hospitality management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform administrative duties including reading and drafting reports, communicating with guests, managers, corporate office, and local associations. Critically review reports of occupancy and revenue. Make judgements and implement changes to maximize profits. Develop annual plan, including budget and marketing plans.
- Interview, hire, supervise and counsel department managers in the efficient operation of their respective areas. Manage, develop, and delegate improvement plans for operation. Review performance of management team.
- Participate in community affairs and maintain a positive public image for the hotel. Meet with potential and current clients and promote the hotel.
- Physically tour and visually inspect property daily. Monitor cost control, property condition, cleanliness and quality of product and service throughout the hotel. Greet and maintain rapport with employees and customers.
- Report any third-party audit requests, regulatory agency property visits, incidents, accidents, and notices of pending litigation.
- Responsible for the overall performance of personnel policies and procedures at the property.
- Hold weekly staff meetings with department heads.
- Ensure that all required reports are submitted promptly.
- Create and maintain a "guest first" priority throughout the property.
- Create new programs in response to market conditions and revenue opportunities. Develop a goal-oriented business plan to support the financial goals.
- Responsible for overall performance and franchise policies and procedures at the property.
- Ensure that effective cash and asset controls are in place throughout the property.
