General Manager

The General Manager is in charge of business operations and strategy, and is responsible for ensuring that all of our players have an amazing, memorable experience at Escape Rhode Island. You will assure quality, address shortcomings, encourage return customers, and market our venue to new customers. Experience, creativity, and follow-through will all be crucial here. You will be empowered to set priorities and to make and execute decisions that will directly impact the company's bottom line; a portion of your compensation will be tied to the company's success.

Responsibilities:

• Communication: answering all phone calls, voicemails, emails, Facebook messages, and online reviews
• Staff management: maintaining a positive, high performing, efficient work environment; overseeing payroll, timekeeping, scheduling, and performance tracking; supervising all vendors, contractors, and consultants
• Critical admin duties: bookkeeping, tax filing, banking, timely payment of vendors, budgeting, etc.
• Sales & Marketing: seeking out new customers through targeted marketing and community engagement, maintaining and improving the overall customer experience to encourage repeat visits
• Crisis response: dealing with unanticipated events like departure of key staff, fire/burglar alarms, and critical venue maintenance issues

About us

We are professional, agile, creative and our goal is to Escape Rhode Island opened its doors in 2015 as the first escape room in the state. Since then, we have built eight original games, and have been featured at 2 local conventions. We are continuing to innovate in the escape room field, and are excited to bring a new General Manager on board who can help lead our business through the challenges and opportunities that come with that. We are a member of the Escape Industries umbrella, sharing best practices and game designs among our sister companies, Escape New Haven and Escape Sacramento.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
