About Neon Greens: Neon Greens is a radically fresh produce company serving made-to-order craft salads scheduled to open spring 2024 in the historic Grove neighborhood of St. Louis. With a mission to unleash the benefits of a localized food chain and give guests the best salad they’ve ever had, Neon Greens will grow ingredients on-site in hydroponic plots that customers will enjoy in their salad right after harvest - bringing a new idea of what quick-serve food can taste like - from seed to plate.

Main Functions:
The GM at Neon Greens reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The General Manager position is responsible for the company’s day-to-day activities and all goings on for the entire restaurant operation. This includes all aspects of operating, quality and execution of service, revenue and sales growth, expense, cost and margin control, and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management.
Requirements:
- Excellent Leadership, interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- A solid working knowledge of restaurant operations.
- Full understanding of P&L statements and cost control.
- Ability to foster respect and trust from staff and all collaborators, inside and outside of the business.
- A strong ability to cultivate a nurturing work environment that also prioritizes employee growth alongside business development.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing and protecting all restaurant assets. This is described as providing excellence in leadership while overseeing all aspects of the operation. Key responsibilities include, creating and maintaining a high profile public image, maintaining the highest level of standards and efficiency while maximizing profitability.
To fulfill these responsibilities, the General Manager will:
- Ensure quality control and oversight of all activities with regards to our products and services.
- Conduct regular meetings and sessions to ensure all departments are working to complete priorities of the set tasks.
- Ensure all work and activities comply with legal methods and laws.
- Act as a mediator for conflict resolution among various departments and team members within the organization.
- Set and assign operational goals for key team members and departments including; all staff, managers, and supervisors.

Human Resources:
Participation in human resource functions will include:
- Recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and compensation for all hourly positions within Neon Greens
- Administration of files, paperwork, forms and compliance of all documentation
- Professional training and development, including new employee orientation
Training and Development:
GM’s will lead, develop, train, and motivate staff into high-performing teams by:
- Leading by example
- Initiating weekly individual meetings with team members to set goals, objectives, develop, and train.
- Develop and maintain quarterly employee recognition programs.
- Solicit input for best practices policy.
- Maintain communication to achieve consistent service standards and team member solidarity.
Agriculture and Sourcing:
The GM at Neon Greens will supervise and work closely with the on site Agriculture Manager to:
- Maintain the highest quality of produce grown for Neon Greens salads
- Collaborate to adjust volumes of produce provided based on sales data
- Control costs within the agricultural arm of Neon Greens
- Aid in and administer all farm worker compliance and onboarding
- Coordinate scheduling and approval of all on-site tours, popups, and classes.
Additional areas of responsibility:
- Active in service oversight and execution by being on the floor during service hours.
- Completing a final premises check at the beginning and end of each shift
- Maintaining and initiating positive and lasting relations with new and returning guests.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, repairs, and maintenance of all fixtures and equipment within the restaurant and food facilities.
- Ensure the restaurant is in compliance with all health codes
- Develop and maintain quarterly employee recognition programs.
- Execute weekly payroll
- Stay updated and informed on current hospitality and industry trends
- Work to maintain and foster positive relationships with vendors and purveyors within the local metropolitan area
Experience:
- 4+ years hospitality industry experience
- 2-3 years kitchen experience preferred
- 1-2 years quick serve experience preferred
