McGee Air Services is looking for an experienced General Manager, Operations for our largest HUB Operation at the Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport.

The General Manager, Operations provides leadership and strategic support for the operational leadership team. This role will drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through McGee's ramp operation. They will coach, guide and mentor leaders responsible for day-to-day station operations. The General Manager is responsible for building a collaborative team, who creates a culture of mutual respect and teamwork, while keeping safety and service at the core of everything we do. This role will drive a high-performance team culture by leading station and company-level initiatives focused on operational excellence, recognition and an ever-improving safety culture.

This position reports to the Director, Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster and maintain a culture where the safety of our team members and customers is always our number one priority.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers, focused on daily operational performance.
  • Manage day-to-day station operation, including team of duty managers, operational duty managers and equipment manager.
  • Oversee station's operational key performance indicators and productivity, monitor performance against planned goals/objectives and compliance guidelines.
  • Introduce corrective actions to ensure performance metrics are regularly achieved
  • Promote a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.
  • Oversee operational plans and daily work schedules in support of a 24/7 operation in accordance with the labor contract
  • Investigate, develop, and drive strategies to eliminate delays, irregularities, safety and compliance concerns quickly and efficiently, in partnership with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement programs focused on improving employee retention and attendance reliability and decreasing safety incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all regulations of federal, state and local airport authorities
  • Model strong leadership at all times, including but not limited to building relationships and trust, giving recognition, showing care for team members, providing feedback and coaching, accepting ownership and driving results.
  • Ensure facilities and assets are maintained and in accordance with company standards
  • Drive strong working relationships with Human Resources, Safety, Training and Alaska counterparts
  • Establish and maintain a culture that encourages open communication, where all team members feel valued, connected and engaged in the success of the operation
  • Model and maintain an inclusive, engaging and high-performance culture that demonstrates McGee's values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride
  • Perform additional duties as required for the success of the business

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience leading large groups of team members in a fast-paced, service-focused environment required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of airline experience with proven skills in station operations, including one of the following areas: passenger service, cargo handling, fleet service, or ground operations preferred
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Experience with building and developing teams required
  • Professional work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all work groups while addressing people courageously, directly and candidly
  • Proven ability to direct the work of others in a positive way
  • Able to lead and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup and other internal departments
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast -paced environment
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance, customs seal, and/or USPS security clearance including background criminal history check, drug screen and fingerprinting
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

SALARY RANGE:

Salary Band Range: $87,649 - $131,474

Hiring Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000

SALARY DETAILS: The pay range and total target compensation package is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Pay will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to location, relevant experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity to other McGee employees.
