POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager oversees and manages all aspects of operations at Magnum Systems Inc. This includes managing production processes, sales, engineering, and project management, implementing and maintaining quality control measures, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving operational efficiency to meet company goals and objectives.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manufacturing Operations Management: Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, inventory management, supply chain, and quality control. Ensure that all manufacturing processes are optimized for efficiency and productivity and meet the company's quality standards.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of employees, including sales, engineers, project managers, production supervisors, and support staff. Set performance expectations, provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and implement training and development programs to enhance team performance.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive the company towards achieving goals and objectives. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, supply chain, and finance, to ensure alignment and coordination across the organization.
  • Safety and Compliance: Establish and maintain a safe work environment by industry standards and regulations. Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, conduct safety audits, and promote a culture of safety awareness among employees.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain a robust quality control system to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with relevant quality standards. Identify and address any quality issues or non-conformities in a timely manner.
  • Cost Control and Operational Efficiency: Implement cost control measures and process improvements to optimize manufacturing operations and achieve cost targets. Analyze operational data, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships to understand their needs and expectations. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure customer satisfaction and address customer concerns or issues.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and other relevant data. Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement and provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve results.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement operational plans and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and other operational excellence principles is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and tools, such as ERP systems, CRM systems, and other relevant software applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 15 years' progressive experience in manufacturing operations management, preferably in a leadership role.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time, exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.


The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and safety footwear.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

TRAVEL

Up to 50% overnight travel (between plant locations, attendance at trade shows, and other events as necessary) is required.
