SUMMARY:

• This position is responsible to assist in controlling expenses.
• Provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements.
• Interpret and enforce company policies.
• Assist in the determination of manpower needs and make recommendations.
• Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately.
• Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow-up.
• Work with department heads to meet production quality yields and goals while ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product.
• Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security.
• Supervise production supervisors and oversee all designated shift operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years of related industry experience, 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a meat processing facility, and knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
• Computer Skills: Standard computer skills required.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary.
• Travel: 0 - 10% travel required.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; interview, hire, and train team members; plan, assign, and direct work; monitor and appraise work performance; reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems.
• Special Skills: Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality yields, cost, and efficiencies; strong math ability a plus.
