General Manager

$45,000-$55,000 base salary + commission- First year anticipated take home of 100k+

Job Description:
Groovy Hues, a national franchise operation specializing in residential and commercial paint and power wash services is seeking a dynamic and results driven General Manager. We are backed by the highest quality distributors in the business to utilize the best products in the market. Our painters and team members are highly skilled and value a thorough preparation process that ensures the best final product for our clients.  We pride ourselves on unmatched customer service and quality communication that keeps our customers always informed so they can have peace of mind throughout any Groovy Hues project.
The General Manager will report to owners and is responsible for driving business growth, managing a high-performance team, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably within the paint and powerwashing industry, coupled with excellent leadership skills. The General Manager will work directly with the warehouse, crew members, and administrative teams to ensure prompt and efficient delivery to our customer base. This individual will effectively partner with dispatch and build relationships with customers to ensure their needs are being met. This individual will strive to achieve profitability, customer satisfaction, and efficiency while maintaining standards set forth by the Groovy Hues brand.
Travel is required to support business needs.
Compensation Package
  • Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 plus sales commission, First year expected income of $100,000+

Responsibilities:
  • Sales leadership
    • Generate leads, convert prospects, and expand the client base.
    • Conduct regular sales training to enhance team skills and product knowledge.
  • Team leadership
    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales and operations team. Provide feedback and coaching through regular check-ins and touch bases.
    • Hire, train, review, and develop persons on the team.
    • Mentor and coach team members on the proper techniques, working safely, customer service and overall performance and skill development.
  • Operational excellence
    • Ensure local, county, state or federal code requirements are being met.
    • Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and that the company is following all regulatory rules and regulations to promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment and reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
    • Monitor, review and approve technician, foreman, and coordinator timecards in a timely manner, utilizing tools to ensure accuracy and compliance to any applicable state required wage (including but not limited to OT, DT, and prevailing wage), shift, meal, and break laws.
    • Maintain company property and documentation in accordance with established policies, handle proprietary information in the prescribed manner, and adhere to policies and procedures including all safety requirements.
    • Complete vehicle inspections to comply with maintenance requirements.
  • Client engagement
    • Contribute to a Customer First environment which achieves ultimate customer service/satisfaction.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring a positive customer experience.
    • Address customer concerns promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction.
  • Financial management
    • Analyze business results based on KPI reporting and P&L statements to make informed business decisions.
    • Develop and manage sales and operational budgets, focusing on maximizing profitability.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of technical managerial experience, training and/or servicing on-site in a commercial/construction setting.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer relationship management, and lead generation.
  • Valid state driver’s license. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Painting Industry Experience
  • Technical certifications.
  • Project Management Certification.
  • Prior experience directly managing a team.
  • Experience with a performance management system.
  • Knowledge of project management, resources allocation, resource utilization and cost control.
  • Possess an understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these to cost containment in managing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct weekly meetings and report on project activity.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
  • Be technically adept and have experience with common Microsoft Office, web-based systems, and conferencing/video technology.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
    • Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
    • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.
    • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
    • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
