General Manager for Exciting New Terrace Bar Opening in May 2024

Leading Houston-Area Events and Hospitality Company is searching for a talented and experienced General Manager to join our team and lead the launch of our vibrant new terrace mixology bar, overlooking Buffalo Bayou, opening in May 2024.

Our upcoming rooftop destination is set to become the most desired destination in town, offering a unique blend of craft cocktails and lite-bites, with an unmatched beautiful downtown view in a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. With a prime location and a commitment to exceptional service, we are poised to make a splash in the local scene.

Position Overview:

As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the bar’s operations, from hiring and training staff to managing inventory and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the beverage director to develop and implement strategies for driving revenue, building brand awareness, and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, and train a team of talented bartenders, servers, and support staff
• Execute standard operating procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations
• Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, and controlling costs
• Schedule staff schedule and prepare bi-weekly Payroll.
• Create and execute innovative marketing and promotional campaigns to attract new customers and retain existing ones
• Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that values teamwork, creativity, and professionalism
• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, such as sales, expenses, profit margins, and take proactive steps to achieve business objectives
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and legal regulations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a managerial role in the hospitality industry, preferably in a mixology bar or restaurant setting.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Strong business acumen and financial management skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Flexible on schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Passion for creating memorable guest experiences and a commitment to quality.
