Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley.
Position Summary:
As our VP/GM, Europe, you will be responsible for leading and growing our European sales team and for the planning, development, and execution of Singular's sales strategy in the region. You will partner closely with functional leadership to execute on Company objectives and grow Singular's customer base. This role will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and is ideally suited to a candidate who is self-motivated and excited by a startup environment where opportunity to rise to frequent and diverse challenges is commonly encountered.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations for the region to advance strategy, culture, talent, develop build and foster an environment of excellence by developing a high-performing team while establishing clear direction of responsibilities, objectives and goals that maintain an ongoing focus on business development and superior customer experience.
- Provide leadership to the Commercial team across Europe and be responsible for executing the go-to-market strategy to deliver short and long-term success.
- Develop and deploy a sales strategy that is aligned with the broader Commercial organization and grows sales of all products in line with company expectations.
- Deliver a world-class customer experience in conjunction with other customer facing departments.
- Partner with Commercial leadership to build and implement sales related systems and processes.
- Work closely with the Scientific Support team to develop systems and processes that ensure the highest level of professional customer support and provide exceptional customer experience.
- Identify and nurture KOL's in multiple application areas and develop relationships to catalyze the sales efforts.
- Work with Marketing to help develop a marketing plan that drives regional sales growth.
- Develop deep knowledge of accounts, funding, competition in territory leading to develop an accurate forecast.
- Professionally and proactively communicate with external and internal customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Ph.D. Or Master's degree and/or relevant lab experience a plus.
- At least 10 years of commercial experience in one or more of the following areas: sales, marketing, business development.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Life Sciences Tools market and knowledge of competitive products in the Next Generation Sequencing space and adjacent markets.
- Proven ability to build and grow a high-performing sales team and a track record of developing the systems and processes to support sustainable long-term growth.
- Proven ability to sell sophisticated, high-throughput instrument platforms and associated consumables in a highly technical environment.
- Deep knowledge and relationships with decision makers/influencers and leading researchers in the sequencing and spatial biology community.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively deliver technical presentations, handle customer issues and work collaboratively to support the efforts of sales and support effort.
- Excellent computer software skills with demonstrable expertise in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com
- Excellent organizational, analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills.
