General Manager

Position Summary:

TheGeneral Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive performance of the warehouse, encompassing operations, customer service, and office functions. This role involves strategic planning, organization, staffing, and control of all warehouse activities. Key responsibilities include the selection, development, and motivation of warehouse personnel, establishing performance objectives, and ensuring the facility's profitability. The GM serves as a crucial link in meeting and exceeding customer expectations and reports to the Director of Sales and Operations.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Implement efficient systems and procedures for managing physical facilities, equipment, and products.
• Direct and execute warehouse operations and administrative support to meet productivity and service targets.
• Monitor various reports including inventory, open orders, production, incidents, and surveillance activities.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Inventory, and Production to address and report customer claims.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Foster effective communication among employees, customers, and management.
• Partner with Human Resources to recruit, develop, and empower employees at all levels.
• Ensure comprehensive training on warehouse information systems for efficient operations.
• Stay updated on hardware and software advancements.
• Establish and communicate customer service standards to all employees.
• Ensure each account receives necessary operational and administrative support.
• Maintain consistent contact with accounts and respond promptly to requests.
• Monitor and report daily sales, tonnage, and inbound/outbound activity.
• Develop, recommend, and manage financial budgets as directed.
• Oversee daily payables and receivables.
• Implement controls to meet service and operational goals within cost and profit parameters.
• Procure necessary equipment and facilities to meet company profit goals.
• Develop programs for maintaining standards of sanitation, maintenance, security, and safety.
• Lead cross-functional teams for crisis management, food safety, HACCP, and security.
• Drive continuous improvement in food safety and enforce company policies.
