Base Pay:
$24.94 plus $4.41 for H&W (Health & Welfare) under a Service Contract Agreement
Benefits Include:
2 weeks PTO after 1 year, 56 hours of Sick Time, 11 Paid Federal Holiday Medical, Dental, and Vision: employee-only tier offered at no cost to the employee, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.
Overview:
PCSI is looking for a General Maintenance Worker at JBLM! We repair and maintain the physical structure of Single Soldier Barracks/Dormitories and perform minor building and facility maintenance as directed to include carpentry, drywall repair, painting, masonry, plumbing, flooring, electrical repairs, and other related activities. This position will report to Maintenance Supervisor based out of JBLM. Work hours will be Mon-Fri 7:30-4:30. Candidate preferably must have a disability to fulfill our Ability One contract requirements.

What You'll Do as General Maintenance Worker:
  • Repairs and maintains the physical structure of barracks/dormitories on Joint Base Lewis McChord. Performs minor building and facility maintenance as directed to include carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical repairs, and other related activities.
  • Conducts repairs within constraints of personal skill level and contractual requirements.
  • Reviews work orders and coordinates with supervisor on tasks assigned. Coordinates repairs with Area Supervisor prior to commencing maintenance activities.
  • Performs tasks involved in the routine minor maintenance of barracks/dormitory facilities.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains power tools.
  • Applies protective coatings such as paint, varnish, stain enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of building.
  • Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler.
  • Notifies management when major repairs are needed.
  • Responsible for compliance with all company and safety policies and procedures. Always adheres to personal safety. Works in a safe and responsible manner and complies with safety standards. Understands use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) & is required to always wear safety shoes/boots. Work shoes with a removable steel toe cover are acceptable.
  • Operates a company-owned vehicle (and cellular telephone) to transport self and others in performance of assigned duties; performs operator maintenance as required.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequently required to sit and climb or balance.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written format.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Possess valid driver's license and maintain good driving record.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
